Sasha is a power yoga instructor and also holds a Bachelor of Nutrition. These days she prefers to teach yoga rather than council on diet and practises on the Sunshine Coast. She also works in social media & marketing, trip coordination and teaches yoga in Fiji as part of her role with kitesurfer, Ben Wilson.

I practised yoga when I was young but really started appreciating it while at university as a means to increase strength, flexibility and fitness. I didn’t think too much about its deeper value, I just loved the way it made me feel! Later, when I was practising as a Nutritionist, I found the biggest hurdle I faced was overcoming clients’ negative mindset and their ongoing self-sabotage. I knew I they needed to confidence and self love in order to create lasting change and I knew I wasn’t reaching them by prescribing simply what to eat. I learned that no one will treat their body the way I told them if they secretly believed they don’t deserve it. For me, yoga teaches the value of our inner wisdom and helps me inspire balance, confidence, self respect and body-awareness in others.

The first change must come from within. Everything else will follow naturally.

What do you do when you’re not teaching yoga?

Since 2012 I’ve worked with kitesurfer, Ben Wilson across his kite brand and trips. I manage social media, marketing and each year I join Ben and the crew for his Fiji Kite Weeks on Namotu Island, Fiji. These high-end water sports trips are the absolute pinnacle in luxury adventure travel and I’m honoured to be a part of them. Here’s a bit of information on both the Fiji trips. I also love to surf, ride horses, cook and travel where I can.
